When we embarked down the path of distilling professionally there is a glaring fork in the road when deciding how our spirits will make it to your hands. We could take the conventional approach and procure already-made vodka from mass-production facilities, or we could do it the hard way – make it from scratch with grains from Texas family farms.

Like other industries, agriculture and ‘big liquor’ have centralized into a select few large companies that provide over 80% of the products available in retail, regardless of the brand advertised on the label. While this model keeps costs low, it leaves a majority of farmers – our neighbors – producing for niche markets like hog feed on very slim margins.
