Marchand‑Tawse is the collaborative creation of Pascal Marchand—a Quebec-born winemaker who became a pioneer of organic and biodynamic Burgundy—and Moray Tawse of Canada’s Tawse Winery. Founded in 2011, the négociant project sources fruit from premier terroirs (like Gevrey, Nuits‑St‑Georges, Puligny‑Montrachet) and manages some estate vineyards too.
Pascal’s journey includes elevating Clos des Epeneaux and Domaine de la Vougeraie—and now, with Marchand‑Tawse, he brings the same passion: hand‑picked biodynamic grapes, minimal intervention, whole clusters, and gentle élevage in tank and barrels.
100% Chardonnay. 16 months in French oak barrels, 20% new from Allier forest.
Mineral, pure, intense with a long finish.
Rich, really mineral due to the pebbly and stony soil. The acidity is present along with Granny Smith apples and citrus.
