Lone Eagle is made by Julien Fayard, one of Napa Valley’s most lauded winemakers. In the pitch-perfect 2021 vintage, he crafted this wine to let its wild mountain terroir shine through. Poised, packed with huckleberry and boysenberry fruit, it’s a relative rarity and an eloquent, sonorous new voice to join the conversation.

Truly great wine has never been made where it’s easy.

Just seven miles west of Healdsburg—but an HOUR by truck—lies a vineyard planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah, and Petit Verdot at staggering elevation. High above the fog layer, sunny days, frigid nights, and proximity to the Pacific make for a late-October harvest—if you’re lucky. The wind whips through the surrounding redwoods and oaks, stressing the vines and slowing harvest further, making for spectacularly flavorful fruit.

Atlas Vineyard Management company, trusted by Williams-Selyem and a suite of Sonoma County luminaries, tends these vines masterfully, ensuring even ripeness and healthy bunches.

Aged 24 months in 80% new French oak, the wine shows loads of ripe berry fruits, graphite, tobacco leaf, spice, shaved chocolate and anise aromatics. Full-bodied, this meaty, chewy, mineral driven Cabernet is supple enough to consume over the next 2-3 years and structured enough to age for another 12. The wine is both concentrated yet balanced and demonstrates the uniqueness of high-elevation and coastal Cabernet Sauvignon.
