The Cuvelier family wine journey began in 1804 in France. Today, seven generations later, we created a 55 hectares(120 acres) organic and biodynamic estate in Valle de Ucoplanted with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.
The season started with a cold and dry winter that remained persistent throughout September. Spring and Summer high and low temperatures exceeded their annual average ranges. However, this increased temperature range promoted an optimal phenolic maturity and an incredible anthocyanin accumulation. These exceptional conditions delivered an outstanding vintage which is captured in each of our wines. 2018 is definitely a vintage to remember, and possibly, the best vintage of our short history
Our vineyard is very carefully managed. We consider quality and respect for both the environment and the health of our team and of our customers top priorities. That is why we employ only organic and biodynamic methods. Our Argentinian team, following a “Bordeaux Grand Cru” vine-growing method, produces high quality grapes with very low yields of 40 to 70 quintals per hectare.
Gally's Tip: Château Léoville-Poyferré family has implement their Grand Cru Classé de Bordeaux production techniques in the Uco Valley, They developed wines of excellence, with a signature Bordeaux style, and created Malbec-based blends, which are proudly presented as the Argentine cousins of Château. Léoville-Poyferré.
