BloodRoot is a product of our love of wine and our belief that good wine should be attainable for anyone.
Conceived by Noah and Kelly Dorrance of Reeve Wines, BloodRoot the name connotes “life from death” as the “blood” of the vines is nourished by the “roots” and terroir that surround each plant, and how truly special this cycle is.
Noah and head winemaker Katy Wilson are adept at making very serious wines that garner all the accolades. One of the challenges they actively seek out is making serious wines at value-based prices. BloodRoot allows for this constant questioning, seeking, pushing, and experimentation that only a place like California can embrace. They love to make wines that blow your mind for the price, and varieties you’ve never imagined tasting.
Up and down the dramatic coastline of California, the chilly Pacific Ocean provides a regular cooling effect for Pinot Noir, allowing it to extend ripening and develop the grape variety’s singular charms. We source from more than 20 vineyards along
the coastal range including Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley and greater Mendocino, Sonoma and Monterey Counties.
