Selección Especial is the first wine from Abadía Retuerta in which the best wines of the vintage are selected and blended together. All of the wines come from the estate’s own vineyard, which has been separated into 54 distinct plots. This wine mostly consists of Tempranillo, which is native from the Duero Valley, and it is complemented by other varieties from the estate, chosen by tasting. The objective is to balance the quirks of each vintage while maintaining the wine’s characteristic style.

Dark red in color. It has a clean and attractive nose, with aromas of red fruits like redcurrant, raspberry and cherry. There are also mild herbal and menthol notes, as well as a subtle creaminess. On the palate it is smooth, refreshing and pleasant, with high quality tannins, both fine and mature: they are perfectly integrated, ensuring a long, aromatic finish.
