In 1989, the Truchards established a winery and began producing wines using only their estate-grown fruit.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2023 vintage of Truchard Cabernet Sauvignon exemplifies the outstanding\u003cbr\u003econditions presented at our vineyard. Steady winter rains satiated the vines, leading to a\u003cbr\u003ecalm spring that allowed for substantial growth. Picking began in early September, with\u003cbr\u003eoptimal conditions throughout the Harvest Season. Truchard’s 2023 vintage highlights\u003cbr\u003ethe opulence of the Carneros region, promoting approachable, fruit-forward wines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated with Pasteur Red\u003cbr\u003eyeast. Fermentations were pumped-over twice daily with the temperature peaking at\u003cbr\u003e88º F. Maceration time varied from 14 to 30 days depending on vineyard block. The\u003cbr\u003ewine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (45% new). The final blend is 89%\u003cbr\u003eCabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec.
